So, I was trying to figure out how to watch the WNBA games. It’s a real mess, man. Let me tell you how I finally got it sorted, step by step.
First, I found out that there are a few different ways to watch if you don’t have cable, and some of them are even free, like these free trials. I learned that DirecTV Stream, Hulu + Live TV, and Fubo all have these trials. Great, I thought, free basketball!
Next, I did some digging and discovered that YouTube TV is probably the best option for watching the WNBA overall. It has most of the channels you need and the price isn’t too crazy. But, even with YouTube TV, you don’t get every single game. To get everything, you gotta add a WNBA League Pass, which is a pain, but it gets you all the out-of-market games.
I also checked out the attendance numbers, and they are huge! They are saying it’s the highest attendance in 22 years. 2,353,735, up 48% from last season. They sold out 154 games, which they are saying is a 242% increase from last year. WNBA averaged 9,807 fans per game, up 48% from last season. So many more people are going to the games now. It’s cool to see how popular it’s getting.
Then I looked into the Finals. This year it’s the New York Liberty against the Minnesota Lynx. You can catch those games on ESPN and ABC. The Liberty are the number 1 seed and they’ve never won a championship, so that’s a big deal for them.

So, yeah, that’s my journey to watching WNBA games. It took a bit of work, but now I’m all set. I just hope that in the future it will become a lot easier and simpler than what I just went through.
