Cody Bellinger Batting Stance Breakdown: Easy-to-Follow Guide.

Alright, so I’ve been trying to really nail down Cody Bellinger’s batting stance, and let me tell you, it’s been a process. I wanted to share my journey and what I learned so far so that you all can practice with me!

Cody Bellinger Batting Stance Breakdown: Easy-to-Follow Guide.

First Step: Observation

First things first, I watched a ton of videos. You gotta see it in action, right? I focused on games, highlights, anything I could find. Slow-motion replays were my best friend. I really tried to pay attention to every little detail, his feet, his hands, how he holds the bat, everything.

Breaking it Down

Next, I tried to break it down into smaller parts. It’s just too much to copy all at once. So I started with his feet.

  • Foot position: It looked like he stands a bit open, with his front foot slightly further back from the plate than his back foot.
  • Hand Position: His hands were pretty high, almost above his helmet, and the bat was kind of angled back.
  • The Waggle:And then, the famous waggle! He has that little bat movement before the pitch. I tried to copy that rhythm.

Practice Time

Then, I started putting it into practice. I don’t have access to a batting cage now, so I grabbed a broom handle and headed to my backyard. Seriously, a broom handle. It’s about the same length and gives you something to grip.

I started by trying to replicate this foot position. It felt weird at first, a little unbalanced. I took a few dry swings. I also found that setting up his “open” stance gave me a better view of the incoming pitch. I kept adjusting, moving my feet a little bit at a time until it felt somewhat comfortable(Or I at least thought it looked close).

Next up, the hands. Getting them that high felt awkward. I kept reminding myself: “High hands, angled bat.” It took a while to get the hang of it. I was concentrating on keeping my front elbow down, and not letting it fly open.

Lastly I tried copying Bellinger’s bat waggle, I probably look ridiculous, but hey, you gotta commit, right? I tried to make it smooth and rhythmic, like he does. It’s actually kind of relaxing, I can see why he might be doing this before a hit!

Putting It All Together

Finally, I tried to put it all together. The stance, the hands, the waggle, the whole shebang. I took a bunch of practice swings, slowly at first, then gradually speeding up.

It definitely didn’t feel natural at first. I felt like I was all over the place, but over time, I started to get a little bit of a rhythm going. It’s still a work in progress, of course. But I’m starting to see how all the pieces fit together.

Final Thoughts (For Now)

So, that’s where I’m at with my experiment with Cody Bellinger’s batting stance. It’s been a fun challenge, and I’m definitely going to keep working at it. I feel like I’ve learned a lot just by trying to copy his stance, even if I don’t end up using it in a game. It’s all about understanding the mechanics and seeing what works for you. And it might need more time to improve it!
