Okay, so “Fight in El Paso” – sounds pretty straightforward, right? I wanted to capture some decent footage of, you guessed it, a fight in El Paso. But where to even begin?
Finding the Action
First, I scoured the internet. I mean, I typed in everything I could think of: “El Paso fights,” “brawls in El Paso,” “public fights El Paso.” Nothing super helpful popped up, just some old news articles and a bunch of unrelated stuff.
Next step, I thought I should check the local social place, maybe I could find something, but after hours searching I found that it’s not easy to find what you want sometimes.
Going in Blind (Almost)
So, I decided to go old-school. I figured the best bet was to just… be in El Paso. I booked a cheap hotel room for a few nights. It wasn’t fancy, but it had a bed and a shower, which is all I really needed.
I spent the first day just walking around. I hung out near some popular bars, checked out some busy intersections, and even wandered through a couple of parks. I kept my camera ready, but honestly, I didn’t see anything even close to a fight.
The “Fight”
Day two. Still nothing. I was starting to think this whole thing was a bust. Then, in the evening, I was near this little plaza downtown. There were a bunch of people hanging around, some music playing, and a general lively atmosphere.
Suddenly, I heard some shouting. Two guys were face-to-face, yelling at each other. My heart started racing – this was it! I quickly got my camera up and started recording.
They were gesturing wildly, getting really close to each other. It looked like it was about to explode… and then… nothing. They just yelled some more, then one of them stormed off. The other guy just shook his head and walked away.
That was it. My “fight in El Paso.” A whole lot of yelling and not much else.
After that two guys fight, I realized that that not the fight I expected.
So I pack things and prepare for check out.
