Okay, so I saw this “tyreek hill drew” thing trending and, honestly, I was curious. I’m no artist, but I figured, why not give it a shot? It’s all about having a little fun, right?

First, I googled Tyreek Hill. I mean, I know he’s a super-fast wide receiver for the Dolphins, but I needed some good pictures to use as a reference. I found a few of him in action, mid-catch, running – you know, the classic football poses.

Next up, I needed to figure out what I was actually gonna draw on. I didn’t have any fancy art supplies lying around, so I just grabbed a regular piece of printer paper and a pencil. Nothing special, keeping it real simple.

I started by trying to sketch out his basic shape. Let me tell you, getting the proportions right was way harder than I thought. I mean, drawing a stick figure is one thing, but trying to make it look like an actual human, let alone a super-athlete? Whole different ball game.

I probably erased and redrew his legs like five times. They kept ending up looking like weird, wobbly noodles. The arms weren’t much better. It’s tough to capture that sense of motion and power he has.

  • Sketch
  • Erase some more.

Once I had a rough outline that I was somewhat happy with, I started trying to add some details. I focused on his helmet and jersey, trying to get the Dolphins logo and his number (10, obviously) in there. The face was…well, let’s just say it was a work in progress. It ended up looking more like a generic football player than Tyreek Hill, but hey, I was trying!

My Rough Process

After messing around with the face for a while, I moved on to trying to shade things in a little bit. I’m no expert at shading, so I just tried to make the areas that would be in shadow a little darker. It added a tiny bit of depth, but honestly, it probably just made it look messier.

I spent a good hour on this, just sketching, erasing, and starting over.

The result? It was a long way from anything you’d hang in a museum but I will not lie that it looked like a human.
