I was browsing the web today and stumbled upon this guy named Kenny Perry, who’s apparently a golfer. Now, I don’t know much about golf, but the name sounded familiar. So, I started digging.
First, I just threw “Kenny Perry golfer” into the search bar and started scrolling through the results. I found out that he’s a professional golfer, but he’s been taking time off since 2021 to care for his wife, who’s battling Alzheimer’s. That’s rough, man. I can’t imagine how tough that must be. My heart goes out to them.
Then, I noticed something interesting. This week, he’s playing in some tournament called the Regions Tradition. Apparently, he’s using his roommate’s putter and his caddie’s irons. And get this, he was actually leading the tournament! It’s like something out of a movie, right?
More About Him
I kept digging and found out more about his career. Turns out, he’s pretty successful. He’s won three major championships in a single season before, which is apparently a big deal. Only a few other players have done that, like Gary Player, Jack Nicklaus, and some guy named Langer. He also set a record for the most money earned in a season in 2023, beating Langer’s record from 2017.

I found out that Perry was born in Elizabethtown, Kentucky, and now lives in Franklin, Kentucky. And get this, he actually built his own golf course! It’s called Country Creek, and it’s designed to be affordable for everyone. Apparently, he bought the land for it back in 1995.
Why Did He Quit?
I was curious why he decided to take time off from professional golf. Turns out, it was because it was getting too hard for his wife to follow him around the course. I mean, she’s 62 and dealing with Alzheimer’s, so it makes sense. It must have been a tough decision, but it shows how much he cares for her.
I found out he also has another project, named Kenny KennygPG, or something like that, and it is a Class of 2028 Perfect Game Player Profile. Also, I found out he published a book, his second book. These things make me feel I was right that I heard of him before.
Anyways, that’s all I could find out about Kenny Perry. It’s a pretty inspiring story, all things considered. A successful golfer, a devoted husband, and a guy who built his own golf course. Not bad, Kenny, not bad.
