Alright, so I was trying to figure out how to watch the USA team play in the World Cup, right? And I didn’t want to shell out for cable, ’cause who even has cable these days? So, I started digging around to see what my options were.

First, I heard about this thing called Venu. Apparently, it was supposed to be this new streaming service that had all the sports channels like ESPN, TNT, ABC, and Fox Sports. Sounds perfect, huh? They were saying it was gonna be 42.99 bucks a month.

But guess what? It seems like Venu is not ready for now. No streaming for me using Venu. So, I started looking into other stuff. I checked out a bunch of different streaming services that supposedly let you watch live sports without cable. Stuff like DIRECTV NOW, fuboTV, Hulu Live TV, PlayStation Vue, and Sling TV.

    DIRECTV NOW

  • Offers a variety of sports channels, including those that broadcast World Cup matches.
  • Multiple packages available, prices vary.
  • fuboTV

  • Known for its extensive sports coverage.
  • Also has different packages and pricing tiers.
  • Hulu Live TV

  • Includes live TV channels, including sports networks.
  • Has a single package with a set price.
  • PlayStation Vue

  • Another option with live sports channels.
  • Offers multiple packages with varying channel lineups.
  • Sling TV

  • Generally more affordable than other options.
  • Offers two main packages, “Orange” and “Blue,” which can be combined.

I spent a good chunk of time comparing these services. I looked at what channels they had, how much they cost, and all that jazz. Each one had its own pros and cons, you know? Like, Sling TV was cheaper, but it didn’t have all the channels I wanted in one package. fuboTV had tons of sports, but it was a bit pricier. I read a ton of reviews and compared their offers.

After all that research, I finally settled on fuboTV. I signed up for their trial, and boom! I was watching the World Cup matches, no problem. The quality was good, and I didn’t have any issues with buffering or anything. It was pretty smooth sailing, to be honest.

So yeah, that’s my story of how I figured out how to stream the World Cup. It took a bit of work, but hey, I got to watch the games without forking over a fortune for cable. It is pretty awesome that we even have these options nowadays, right?
