Okay, so I saw this thing online about the NFL playoffs, and it got me thinking, “Who does the Chiefs play next?” I mean, they’re my team, you know? So, I dove into this whole rabbit hole of playoff seeding and brackets, and let me tell you, it’s a bit of a mess.

Who Does Chiefs Play in Playoffs? Dont Miss the Chiefs Road!

First off, I started by looking at the regular season standings. The Chiefs, they did pretty well this year, They’re 15-1, I think it’s pretty good! Clinched the AFC’s top playoff seed by beating the Pittsburgh Steelers, so they get a bye week. That’s like a free pass to the next round, which is sweet! They don’t have anything to play for in Week 18. But then it gets tricky.

How to find out their competitor

I learned that in the playoffs, the highest-ranked teams get to play at home, and they play against the lower-ranked teams. It’s all about who beat whom and what their records are. But they also mentioned something about division champions and wild card teams, which made things even more confusing.

  • Division Champions: These are the teams that won their respective divisions. There are four divisions in each conference (AFC and NFC), so there are eight division champions in total.
  • Wild Card Teams: These are the teams that didn’t win their division but still had a good enough record to make the playoffs. There are three wild card spots in each conference, so there are six wild card teams in total.

I spent a good chunk of time trying to figure out this whole seeding thing. The No. 1 seed, that’s the Chiefs, they get to play against the lowest remaining seed in the next round. The Broncos have officially clinched their first playoff berth since 2015. They beat Kansas City in Week 18. And the second-highest seed plays against the second-lowest. See what I mean about confusing? I found that they are going to play against the San Francisco 49ers next Sunday. They also said that the Chiefs spread the ball around really well.

So, after all that digging, I still wasn’t 100% sure who the Chiefs would play first. But I have a better understanding now. They need to wait and see how the first round of games plays out, and then they will know who they will face.

It’s a bit frustrating not knowing right away, but hey, that’s part of the excitement of the playoffs, right? You never know what’s going to happen. Anyway, I just wanted to share my little adventure into the world of NFL playoff seeding. It was a wild ride, but I learned a lot. Go Chiefs!
