Well, let me tell you, that Chelsea standings, it’s somethin’ else. They’re like a hen that can’t decide which way to go in the henhouse. One day they up, next day they down. Makes my head spin, just like when I try to chase my old rooster, Barnaby, around the yard.
I heard some folks talkin’ ’bout this Palmer fella. Seems like he’s the one puttin’ the ball in the net most of the time. They say he did it like, 28 out of 100 times? Or somethin’ like that. My old eyes ain’t what they used to be. They say he scored a lot in 2023-24. That’s a whole lotta goals. Chelsea sure needs him if they wanna win somethin’.
Someone also told me about since March 11, they been doing real good. They said they are the best record in Premier League since that day. It’s like they finally found their good layin’ hens and started collectin’ those eggs. They’re gettin’ them wins. About 28 games or so, that’s a lot, you know? More than I can count on my fingers and toes, that’s for sure.
Now, I heard they’re only two little points behind Liverpool. That’s like two measly beans in a big ol’ pot. If they play their cards right, Chelsea can hop over Liverpool, just like a frog jumpin’ over a puddle, this weekend. But only if they win against that Everton team. Enzo, that’s the name, right? Enzo Maresca, that’s the man who gonna tell them how to play, I reckon.

They used to win a lot, though. Like, 11 times in a row! That’s more wins than I got chickens in my coop. That was back in 2022, though. Seems like a long time ago now. Time flies like a fly on a hot summer day.
This year, they ain’t been doin’ too bad. Not like before, when they were sadder than a hound dog that lost its bone. They’re climbin’ up, slow and steady, like a snail climbin’ up a stalk of corn. They call it “positive dynamic”. Sounds fancy, don’t it? Just means they’re doin’ better. This weekend is big for them, I heard.
I heard them young’uns talkin’ ’bout “odds” and “title race”. Sounds like a horse race to me. They sayin’ Liverpool is in the lead now, then Man City and Arsenal. Chelsea gotta run faster than a scared rabbit if they wanna catch up.
And that Liverpool, they sure like to beat Chelsea. It’s like my old cat, Mittens, always chasin’ the same mouse. Chelsea lost more games to them than any other team. It’s a shame, really.
But you know what? That Chelsea, they got some fight in ’em. Like a mama hen protectin’ her chicks. They might be up, they might be down, but they ain’t givin’ up. And that Palmer boy, he’s like the sun comin’ out after a rainstorm. He gives ’em hope. Maybe they’ll surprise us all. You never know what’s gonna happen in that Premier League.
That Chelsea standings is a real head-scratcher. But I’ll be watchin’, just like I watch my garden grow. You gotta have faith, even when things are lookin’ a little weedy. And who knows, maybe this old gal will see Chelsea on top of that Premier League table one day. Wouldn’t that be somethin’?
