Alright y’all, buckle up because tracking Cowser’s hammy pull has basically become my new part-time job. Saw him go down grabbing his leg back in May, and my gut just sank. Been obsessively chasing every little update since.

The Initial Panic Phase
Right after it happened, I practically lived on my phone and laptop. Hit refresh on the team site every few minutes hoping for an announcement. Spoiler: they took their sweet time. Twitter was a mess – rumors flying everywhere from “just cramping” to “out for the season.” Frustrating as heck not knowing. I started bookmarking every beat writer who covered the team.
Playing Detective with Beat Writers
Once the official word came down – Grade 2 strain – that’s when my daily ritual kicked in. Every morning, coffee in hand, I’d hunt down every tweet and blog post from our main guys covering the team. You know how it is:
- Check if Cowser was spotted walking on the field.
- Scoured reports for words like “light jogging” or “fielding drills”.
- Got way too excited when someone mentioned him “taking swings in the cage.”
Seriously, felt like I needed a detective board with red string connecting tweets.
The Rehab Games Rollercoaster
Then came the rehab assignment updates. Talk about nerve-wracking! He’d play a game, feel good, I’d start calculating his return… then bam, next report says “felt tightness” or “still evaluating.” Felt like a cruel joke. I started texting my buddy every time his schedule changed: “Game moved to Tuesday!” “Only DHing today!” He probably muted me.
Where We Stand Now
Latest I heard – and I’m crossing fingers here – is things seem positive. Some folks close to the situation are whispering he might be back real soon, like within a week or two if everything checks out on this final push. Saw a video snippet of him running the bases yesterday without wincing – best clip I’ve seen in weeks. Still, learned my lesson about guessing exact dates. Hamstrings are tricky beasts. But yeah, finally feels like the light’s brighter at the end of this tunnel. Just gotta hope he doesn’t re-grab that thing running out of it.
