Alright squad, today’s grind was all about finding the absolute best perks for that Multimach CCX god roll everyone keeps chasing. Seriously, I see this question pop up constantly – “What perks?! What mod?!” So, I dusted off three different rolls I’ve been hoarding and hit the Crucible hard, plus some PvE zones, to really put them through the wringer. Buckle up, here’s what went down.

The Contenders & My Painful Testing
First up, I grabbed Roll #1: Model 8 Red / Accurized Rounds / Killing Wind / Kill Clip / Range Masterwork. Sounds filthy, right? Everyone preaches range on this thing. Jumped into Control. First engagement? Barrel flew off like a soda can tab. Felt SO snappy with Model 8 Red! Killing Wind procced after one kill? Oh man, that movement speed and handling boost is no joke. You feel like a slippery eel. Then, Kill Clip activated? Pure joy, melted the next guy instantly. This roll feels GREAT for multi-kills and aggressive play. But… range drop-off is REAL, man. Past a certain distance, feels like throwing wet paper towels even with Accurized and the MW. Lost fights I felt I should have won.
Okay, needed more consistency. Pulled out Roll #2: Model 6 Loop / Accurized Rounds / Dynamic Sway Reduction / Iron Reach / Stability Masterwork. This is the “laser beam” theory build everyone whispers about in dark corners. Jumped back in. First thing I noticed? Iron Reach absolutely PUSHES the range. Way less drop-off pain compared to Roll #1. You can challenge scouts more aggressively. And Dynamic Sway Reduction (DSR)? Yup, it works. Once you’re holding the trigger for half a second, this thing locks onto heads. It’s steady. Solid. Reliable. BUT… holy lack of flair, Batman! Compared to Roll #1, it felt… kinda boring? No speed boost, no damage perk, just straight up gunfights. Great for winning your 1v1s, but getting double kills felt much harder without the snowball potential. That Stability MW definitely helped keep it manageable though, felt sticky but not impossible.
Finally, I said screw it, let’s try the fringe pick. Roll #3: Model 8 Red / Tactical Mag / Threat Detector / Surplus / Handling Masterwork. Pure handling monster build. Played some faster playlists like Clash and even hopped into that Europa lost sector where everything freezes your ass. Initial thought? Threat Detector + Surplus together is WILD. When enemies are close, which they always are with an SMG, this thing becomes an extension of your hand. ADS? Instant. Swap? Instant. Reload? Snappy as hell. The Handling MW just adds icing. It felt SO agile. For quick, in-your-face fights, swapping targets, or even just navigating PvE mobs, the responsiveness is addictive. Downside? You feel the range limitation HARDER than Roll #1. And that damage? Not bad, but without Kill Clip or the reach of Iron Reach, you really need to be right on top of them. Lose that positional advantage, and you’re toast.
What Actually WORKED (For Me)
After getting melted by shotguns, teabagged, and shredding some dregs, here’s where I landed:
- For Pure Aggression & Pubstomping: That Killing Wind + Kill Clip (Roll #1) combo is vicious. If you get that first kill and use the speed boost to close the gap? Game over for anyone in your path. Works best on smaller maps.
- For Consistent Duels & Winning Your 1s: The Dynamic Sway Reduction + Iron Reach (Roll #2) is your friend. It doesn’t do anything flashy, it just works. Very well. It became my “sweaty” choice when the match was tight.
- For Feeling Like A Speed Demon: That Threat Detector + Surplus (Roll #3) setup is surprisingly fun and effective. Amazing handling is just chef’s kiss. Feels fantastic for PvE ad-clear and hyper-aggressive, mobile PvP. Takes serious positioning skill though.
The Bottom Line (IMHO)
Honestly? Keep different rolls. There isn’t one god roll. It depends on your vibe and the map/mode!

- Feeling spicy and want chain kills? Go KW + KC. Slap an Icarus Grip mod to stay accurate in the air.
- Want to lane a bit and win straight fights? DSR + Iron Reach is your laser. A Counterbalance Stock mod really helps its recoil direction.
- Just wanna move and shoot like lightning? Embrace the handling gods. TD + Surplus. Freehand Grip for hipfire confidence isn’t a bad call.
Took me getting wrecked and wrecking others to see it clearly. Don’t trash those “weird” rolls! Get out there and see what clicks with your trigger finger. Good luck out there, guardians.
