Cult of the Lamb crown vs other crowns (See which one is better choice)

Hey folks, today was one of those days where I just had to settle a debate rattling around my own head: which crown is actually worth wearing in Cult of the Lamb? You know how it is, staring at the collection, wondering if I’d picked the best shiny hat all this time. So, I decided to put them through their paces, properly, like a real cult leader should.

Setting Up the Experiment

First thing this morning, I booted up the game and scrolled through my saves. I needed a file where I’d collected several crowns already – didn’t feel like starting completely fresh. Found one, good to go. My main goal was simple: run through the same chunk of the game with different crowns equipped and see what actually felt better. Not just look at the numbers, but feel the difference in the grind.

I picked one of the mid-game crusade paths – Anura? Yeah, Anura. Consistent enemies, decent challenge, good for testing. Decided my test run for each crown would be: clear two dungeon rooms, collect resources, convert one heretic (or try to), and do one quick ritual back at the base. Needed to see how they handled both smashing enemies and managing the cult.

Putting the Bling to Work

Grabbed the starter crown, the Crown of the Undying, just for a baseline. Wore it for the first dungeon run. Felt… fine. Usual stuff. Hearts dropped often enough, nothing crazy. Ritual cost felt normal. Solid but boring, you know? Like reliable old boots.

Next up, the Crown of Purpose. This one promises better weapon drops. Felt skeptical. Ran the path. Okay, first weapon chest… axe. Meh. Got killed by poison halfway, so restarted. Second chest… dagger. Ugh. Third try finally gave me a decent hammer. Did the ritual back home – the fervor cost hurt. Like, drained me real quick. Definitely felt that trade-off. Better weapons? Sometimes, maybe. Expensive rituals? For sure.

Then I slapped on the Crown of the Berserker. Saw the description: lower hearts, more damage. Took it for a spin. Wow, okay. Felt squishy as heck! Even small bats felt dangerous. But, hitting things? Yeah, you smash harder. Killed stuff way faster, especially big guys. Trade-off was intense. Came out of the dungeon with barely any hearts left, sweating bullets. Ritual cost was manageable though. It’s a scary hat for risky folks.

The Weird One Paid Off

Finally, I dusted off the Crown of Blood. You know, the one bleeding your followers dry for fervor? Always seemed kinda mean, right? Set it up. Went into the dungeon. Felt the fervor trickle in steadily while I fought, which was nice. Didn’t need to collect as many orbs. BUT… got the alert: a follower died back home! Ugh. Sacrificed Jimothy for fervor juice during my crusade. Felt bad man. Ritual later was super cheap though, barely dented my bar. It’s practical, but you gotta stomach the follower tax.

What Actually Stuck?

So, after wasting half my day rerunning Anura, here’s what settled in my gut:

  • Undying is comfy, reliable. Good for chilling.
  • Purpose felt clunky. Waiting for the right weapon dropped sucked, plus the ritual cost stung too much.
  • Berserker is a real rush if you like living dangerously. Smash fast, pray harder. Not for slow days.
  • Blood Crown honestly surprised me. The steady fervor felt great in combat, and cheap rituals were awesome. Yeah, losing Jimothy sucked, but… practical gains.

By dinner time? I realized I’d defaulted back to the Blood Crown for my actual cult management session. That constant fervor drip during chores or building stuff? It just smooths things over. Yeah, gotta build spare follower pens now, but the trade-off feels solid. It’s the nasty efficiency crown, plain and simple. Wouldn’t use it for my relaxing runs, but when you need things done? Yeah. Blood Crown wins for me. Your Jimothy may vary.
