Alright, folks, let’s talk about something I messed around with recently – Tennis Channel Plus. You know, for all you tennis junkies out there who, like me, just can’t get enough of that sweet, sweet backhand action.

So, I’ve been wanting to watch more tennis, especially those smaller tournaments that the main channels don’t always show. I heard about this Tennis Channel Plus thing and figured, why not give it a shot? I went ahead and downloaded the Tennis Channel app – pretty straightforward stuff, you know? They’ve got it for iOS, Android, Apple TV, Fire TV, Roku, and even Samsung TVs. Nice to have options, right?

Now, it is not free, unfortunately. It’s a subscription thing. They want $109.99 for a whole year, or you can do $9.99 a month. I opted for the yearly sub ’cause I figured I’d be watching a ton of tennis anyway.

Once I got the app and coughed up the dough, I started poking around. First thing I noticed, you get the full Tennis Channel live stream, just like on cable. All the same folks talking about tennis, the same matches. But here’s the cool part – they’ve got a bunch of extra courts streaming too, especially during those big tournaments.

  • Live matches galore: They’ve got a ton of live matches, not just the big-name ones.
  • Extra court coverage: During tournaments, you can switch between different courts. Super useful when there are multiple matches going on at the same time.
  • On-demand stuff: Missed a match? No problem. They’ve got replays and highlights.
  • Exclusive interviews and other programs: I also found some player interviews and other original shows that you can only get on the app.

What I did not get

It is not a perfect service for sure. They made it clear that they do not have the rights to show Grand Slams, Davis Cup, Fed Cup, the Laver Cup, or the Olympics. So if that is all you care about, this app will not work for you.

But all in all, for a tennis nut like me, Tennis Channel Plus is pretty sweet. I’m digging the extra coverage, and being able to watch matches on my phone while I’m supposed to be working is a nice little bonus. If you’re into tennis, and you’ve got a few bucks to spare, I’d say it’s worth checking out.
