So yesterday I’m scrolling through my phone, right? And this random question pops into my head: where the heck did the Jets quarterback actually rank back in 2022? I knew it was rough, but I needed numbers. Felt like digging into it myself.
First thing I did was grab my laptop, fired up that Google search bar. Typed in something like “2022 NFL quarterback stats rankings”. Needed the real official stuff, not just some fan opinion. Clicked around a couple sites that looked reliable until I found a page showing the full QB list for that season.
Alright, time to hunt for the Jets guy. Scrolled down… and down… and down some more. Seriously, it took forever. Zach Wilson was starting mostly, right? His name wasn’t jumping out near the top, that’s for sure. Finally spotted him. Felt like finding a needle in a damn haystack, man.
Started looking at the numbers side-by-side:
- Touchdowns? Barely any. Like, seriously low.
- Interceptions? Way too damn high. Every other throw felt risky.
- Passing Yards? Nowhere near the top guys, obviously.
- Completion %? Under 60% most weeks. Ouch.
- Quarterback Rating? Just plain bad. Bottom half bad.
- Sacks? Good lord, the sacks were murdering the kid.
Took all these numbers, compared ’em to the other 31 starters. Crunched it mentally. Wasn’t pretty. Ended up slotting him somewhere near the very bottom tier. Like, maybe 25th at absolute best? Probably closer to 28th or even 30th if I’m being real. No way was he cracking the top 20. Not a chance.
The whole thing just confirmed what my eyes saw watching the games that year. The offense felt stuck, man. No rhythm, no big plays consistently. The sacks kept killing drives. Honestly, what a joke. Felt bad for the kid trying to make it work behind that line, but the results… yeah, the Jets were straight trash at QB in 2022. Case closed.
