Alright, let me tell you about my little adventure with Amber Mann. It all started when I was trying to, you know, spice things up a bit in my home setup. Nothing too crazy, just wanted to add some ambient lighting and maybe play around with some smart home features. I heard about Amber Mann through a friend who’s really into this stuff, so I figured, why not give it a shot?
First thing I did was head over to their website. It’s pretty straightforward, not gonna lie. I spent a good hour just browsing through the different lighting options and reading up on the smart home integration stuff. They have a whole bunch of stuff, from simple bulbs to these fancy light strips you can stick anywhere. I was tempted by the strips, but I decided to start small.
So, I ordered a couple of their smart bulbs. They weren’t too expensive, and I liked that they claimed to be super easy to set up. Shipping was pretty quick, and a few days later, a little box showed up at my door. I ripped it open like a kid on Christmas morning.
The bulbs themselves felt pretty solid. Not cheap plastic like some of the other stuff I’ve tried. I screwed one into a lamp in my living room and the other into a fixture in my bedroom. Then came the moment of truth: setting them up.
I downloaded the Amber Mann app onto my phone. It asked me to create an account, which was a bit annoying, but whatever. Once I was in, the app pretty much walked me through the whole process. It scanned for the bulbs, found them almost immediately, and then asked me to connect them to my Wi-Fi. Took maybe five minutes tops. Not bad at all.
Now, here’s where the fun started. The app lets you control the brightness and color of the bulbs. I was messing around with it for like half an hour, changing the colors and dimming the lights. It was surprisingly cool! You can even create different scenes – like a “movie night” scene with dim, warm lighting, or a “reading” scene with bright, cool light.

I also tried connecting the bulbs to my Google Home. That was even easier than setting them up in the app. Just a few taps in the Google Home app, and boom, I could control the lights with my voice. “Hey Google, turn on the living room light.” Felt like living in the future, haha.
I’ve been using the Amber Mann bulbs for a couple of weeks now, and I gotta say, I’m pretty happy with them. They work as advertised, the app is easy to use, and the smart home integration is seamless. I might even get some of those light strips next time. My place is slowly turning into a smart home, one bulb at a time!
If you’re thinking about getting into smart lighting, I’d definitely recommend giving Amber Mann a shot. It’s a good entry point, and the quality seems pretty decent for the price. Just don’t blame me if you end up addicted to changing the colors of your lights every five minutes!
