Alright, so I was messing around with 2K24 the other day, trying to get my MyPLAYER looking just right. And you know what was bugging me? The darn player number. They just slap one on you, and sometimes it’s just not your number, you get me? So, I went on a little quest to change it. Figured I’d share how I managed it, ’cause it wasn’t immediately obvious, lemme tell ya.

Figuring Out This Number Thing

First thing I did, obviously, was dive into the MyCAREER mode. That’s where all the player stuff usually lives. I was clicking around like a madman for a bit. You’d think something as basic as a jersey number would be, like, front and center in the main MyPLAYER customization screen. But nope, not that easy, apparently.

I poked around in the ‘Appearance’ section first. Seemed like the most logical place, right? Scrolled through all those options – hair, tattoos, all that jazz – but no jersey number option jumped out at me initially. Started to think maybe I was stuck with what they gave me, which would have been a real bummer.

So, here’s the path I eventually stumbled down to get it sorted:

  • I made sure I was in the main MyCAREER hub. You know, not in a game or the City/Neighborhood, but that kind of main menu area for your player.

  • From there, I navigated to the MyPLAYER tab or button. It’s usually pretty prominent.

  • Then, I went into Appearance. Okay, still with me? This is where it got a little hidden for me.

  • Inside Appearance, I had to look for a sub-menu. It wasn’t just listed with clothes and stuff. I think it was under something like ‘Vitals’ or ‘Attributes’ or maybe ‘Player Details’ – one of those sections that has your height, weight, and that kind of info. For me, it was tucked away there.

And wouldn’t you know it, once I clicked into that specific sub-section, BAM! There it was: Jersey Number. Clear as day, once you know where they’ve hidden the treasure.

Actually changing it was super simple after that. Just selected the option, typed in the number I wanted – had to go with my old lucky number, you know how it is – and then made sure to hit ‘Apply’ or ‘Save Changes’. And that was that. My player finally had the right digits on his back.

Honestly, felt like it took longer to find the option than to actually make the change. Why they gotta bury it like that, I have no idea. But hey, that’s how I got it done. Hopefully, this saves someone else a bit of aimless clicking. It’s a small thing, but having your own number just makes it feel more, well, yours.
