So, there I was, smack in the middle of that whole Orlando vacation thing. You know how it gets. Fun, sure, but a whole lot of everything, all at once. After a few days, I just needed a breather, a little escape from the usual hustle and bustle.

I remembered hearing that Disney had some golf courses, somewhere over near the Lake Buena Vista area. Figured, why not? A morning on the greens sounded like a perfect way to recharge. Get some fresh air, swing a club, much better than another long queue for me at that point.

Getting to the course wasn’t a big deal. Pulled in, and yeah, it had that Disney polish. Everything looked super neat and tidy. You could tell they don’t mess around with keeping things looking good. I didn’t lug my own clubs all the way down there, so I just rented a set. Grabbed a cart and off I went.

The course itself? Really nice. Lots of trees, plenty of green, and yeah, a good bit of water that I got a little too familiar with. My golf game was, let’s just say, not exactly tour-level that day. I swear, I donated a few brand-new balls to the local aquatic life. It happens, right? That’s golf for you, or at least, my golf.

I remember one hole, maybe it was the 5th, or was it the 6th? Anyway, it had this green tucked away, and you had to be pretty precise. I wasn’t. But then, a few holes later, I actually hit a great approach shot. Almost holed it! Those little moments keep you coming back, I guess. Saw some cool birds too, just chilling by the fairways. That was a nice touch.

It wasn’t like Mickey Mouse was driving the beverage cart or anything, but you could feel that Disney attention to detail. The grounds were immaculate. The staff I talked to were all super friendly, pointed me in the right direction, no fuss. Just smooth and easy.

After about four hours, I wrapped up my round. Felt good. A bit tired, a bit sun-kissed, but definitely more relaxed than when I started. It wasn’t about shooting the round of my life. It was just about enjoying the game, the scenery, and having a bit of time to myself. If you’re a golfer, and you find yourself in that Disney bubble needing a different kind of park experience, I’d say give it a shot. It was a good way to spend half a day, that’s for sure.
