Alright, let me tell you about this logan stone thing. I’d heard stories, you know, these massive rocks balanced so perfectly you could supposedly rock ’em with just a push. Sounded a bit like folklore, but it got me curious. I figured, why not go see one myself? Nothing beats checking things out with your own eyes, right?

So, I did a quick search, found one that wasn’t a crazy distance away. Didn’t make a huge plan, just decided one Saturday morning to head out. Packed a small bag, jumped in the car. The drive was fine mostly, but the closer I got, the worse the roads became. Typical. Narrow lanes, muddy patches. Had to park quite a way off and walk the rest.
The walk wasn’t too bad, actually. Bit of fresh air, stretched the legs. Found the spot eventually. And there it was. Just a big lump of granite sitting on top of some other rocks. Looked impressive, I guess, in that rugged, natural way. You could sort of see the point where it balanced.
Trying the Stone
There were a couple of other folks milling around, looking at it. I waited my turn. Went up to it, found a spot that looked like it might be the pivot point. Gave it a push. Then a firmer push. Honestly? It didn’t budge. Not for me, anyway. Maybe a tiny, tiny vibration, but definitely not the rocking motion I’d heard about.
I watched another guy try, bigger fella than me. Same result. Maybe these things needed a specific technique, or maybe the stories were exaggerated, or maybe this particular one wasn’t as ‘logany’ as others. Who knows. It definitely looked like it could move, though. The balance was clear to see.
So, what’s the verdict? Well, it was interesting enough. Seeing that massive weight balanced like that makes you wonder about geology and time and all that stuff. But the whole ‘rocking’ part? A bit underwhelming in my experience. Still, it was a decent day out. Got off the couch, saw something different. Sometimes that’s all you need. It’s just a big rock, balanced weirdly. Worth seeing? Yeah, probably, if you’re nearby and curious. Just don’t expect miracles when you push it.
