So, I stumbled upon Omega Strikers not too long ago. Heard some folks talking about it, looked kinda neat, like air hockey mixed with fighting game vibes. Decided to give it a whirl, you know, download it and see what’s up.

First thing I did was just jump straight into a game. Probably not the smartest move, haha. Got absolutely wrecked. Didn’t know what any character did, just picked one that looked cool. I think it might have been Juliette? She seemed straightforward enough, punchy.
Figuring Things Out
Okay, after getting stomped a few times, I realized I actually needed to understand who does what. Went back to the character screen. There’s quite a few of them! Some look tanky, some look speedy, some look like they just wanna cause chaos.
I started just picking different ones each match. Tried Kai, the flashy ranged guy. Fired off a few shots, felt okay, but positioning was tricky. Then I tried Dubu, the big hamster fella. Seemed like a goalie, so I parked myself in front of the net. That was… interesting. Blocking shots felt good, but man, you get focused hard by the opponents.
- Juliette: Simple, punchy. Good for starting, I guess. Easy to understand what she does.
- Kai: Ranged poke. Need good aim, felt like I missed a lot initially.
- Dubu: Big goalie. Blocks stuff. Feels slow when you need to move fast, but great for covering the goal.
- Estelle: Another ranged one, felt a bit different than Kai. More about precise shots maybe?
It took me a bit to really grasp the Forward versus Goalie thing properly. Some characters clearly felt better in one spot than the other, even if the game lets you pick anyone anywhere. Putting a speedy character in goal felt weird, and putting a big tanky guy up front sometimes felt like I couldn’t keep up with the core.
Getting the Hang of It (Sort Of)
Spent a good chunk of time playing Asher. She’s got this shield thing, feels pretty solid both pushing forward and helping defend. Liked her style. Found myself blocking a few goals by accident just by being in the way with her shield, which was always funny.

Then there’s Era. She seemed tricky to get value from at first. Buffs and debuffs? I tried her as a forward, felt like I was helping my team push but maybe not scoring directly as much myself. Still figuring her out, honestly. Sometimes I’d use her speed boost just to run away when things got hairy, or to get back to defend quickly.
One thing I learned the hard way: knowing your character is one thing, but knowing the other characters is just as important. Got slammed by abilities I didn’t even know existed. That Zentaro guy? Dashes everywhere. Super annoying to play against until I sort of got his rhythm and learned to expect his quick moves.
Started noticing how different character combos worked together on a team. Like having someone who can push opponents away from the core (like Dubu or maybe Asher) combined with a fast scorer (like Juliette or maybe X) seemed effective when I saw it happen. Or having someone control space on the field (like Era or Estelle with their abilities) helped a lot too, making it easier to control the core’s movement.
It’s mostly been trial and error for me. Sometimes you get a team comp that just clicks, other times it feels like everyone’s tripping over each other trying to hit the core. Playing goalie is a whole different beast too – you really depend on your forwards to keep the pressure off, otherwise, it’s constant chaos at your net.
Still Playing, Still Learning
So yeah, that’s been my journey with the Omega Strikers characters so far. It’s been fun just messing around, trying different folks out. I think I lean towards the bruiser types like Asher who can take a hit and push back, but I’m trying to get better with the trickier ones too, the ones that need better positioning or timing. Still haven’t tried everyone properly yet, there are quite a few. It’s a process, you know? Just keep playing matches, see what works, what doesn’t, and try not to get scored on too much. Definitely keeps things interesting finding out how each character plays.
