So, I spent some time looking into Carles Pérez lately. It started when I caught a glimpse of a Celta Vigo game, and this guy on the wing caught my eye. Looked familiar, but couldn’t place him immediately.

Naturally, I had to figure it out. Did a quick search. Carles Pérez. The name rang a bell.
Digging into the Past
Turns out, he’s one of those La Masia kids from Barcelona. You know, the famous academy. He even got a few games for the main Barça team, scored a goal or two if I remember right. Always interesting to see who comes through there. Some make it huge, like Messi, others find their path elsewhere.
Then my memory clicked. Right, Roma! He went off to Italy to play for AS Roma for a bit. Seemed like a decent move at the time, trying to get more regular minutes I guess. It’s tough breaking through properly at a giant club like Barcelona.
- Started at Barcelona B
- Got promoted to the first team
- Moved to AS Roma
- Now at Celta Vigo
Watching Him Play Now
Seeing him now at Celta, it’s clearer what kind of player he is. He’s definitely got that winger style.
Likes to dribble, take players on. Seems pretty quick on his feet and often cuts in from the right side onto his stronger left foot. He tries things, which is good to see. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn’t, but he keeps trying.

It’s just part of following football, you know? You see these players pop up, move around, develop. Pérez has been on a bit of a journey already. From the giants of Barça, to Italy, and now back in Spain with Celta. It’s been quite the ride just watching his career path unfold from the sidelines. Just a simple observation from my end, watching how things go for these guys.
