Okay, so check it, today I’m gonna spill the beans on this thing I tried – a photoshoot inspired by Eugenie Bouchard. Yeah, the tennis player. Don’t judge! It was a fun experiment.
First things first: Prep work. I started by scouring the internet for photos of Eugenie. I mean, tons of them. I was trying to figure out her signature poses, the kind of vibe she usually goes for. Sporty, but also kinda glam. Got it?
Then, I hit up my closet. What did I have that even remotely resembled her style? Found a few tennis skirts (thank god I played in high school!), some athletic tops, and a couple of those sporty-chic dresses. Shoes? Sneakers, obviously. And I dug out some old wristbands for that extra touch.
Next, the location. I didn’t have a fancy tennis court at my disposal, so I had to improvise. Found a local park with a decent-looking patch of grass. It wasn’t Wimbledon, but hey, it worked. The lighting was pretty good in the late afternoon, which is key.
Now, the fun part: posing! This is where it got tricky. I tried to mimic some of Eugenie’s poses from the photos I had saved. Some worked, some…not so much. I definitely felt a little awkward at first, but I just kept moving and trying different angles. It helps to have a friend take the pics, but I was solo, so I used my phone on a tripod with a remote. Talk about DIY!
Lighting is everything, seriously. I waited for the golden hour – that time right before sunset when the light is all soft and warm. Made a huge difference in how the photos turned out. Also, I messed around with the exposure settings on my phone to get the right look.
After the “shoot”, it was editing time. I used a basic photo editing app on my phone. Nothing fancy, just tweaked the brightness, contrast, and saturation a bit. A little bit of sharpening, and boom! Ready to go.
What I learned?
- Posing is harder than it looks.
- Good lighting is a game-changer.
- You don’t need fancy equipment to get decent photos.
- It’s actually kinda fun to step outside your comfort zone and try something new.
Honestly, the results were…mixed. Some of the photos were totally cringe-worthy, but a few actually turned out pretty good. Not gonna lie, I might try this again sometime with a different theme. Maybe Serena Williams next time? Haha, just kidding… maybe.
