Okay, so I’ve been messing around with this old car, a 1964 Ford Falcon 4-door. It’s been a real trip, let me tell you!

Getting Started

First things first, I got my hands on this Falcon. It wasn’t exactly in pristine condition. It had been sitting in a garage for who-knows-how-long, gathering dust and probably a few spiders.

The Dirty Work

The initial step? Cleaning. I spent a good chunk of time just washing it, scraping off old grime, and vacuuming out years of accumulated… stuff. You wouldn’t believe the things I found in there!

  • I Removed seats to thoroughly clean all the interrior.
  • I Washed the exterior multiple times to remove as much dust as possible.

Under the Hood

Then came the fun part – checking out the engine. I’m no mechanic, mind you, but I like to tinker. I checked the oil, which was surprisingly not sludge, and I even managed to get the battery hooked up.

  • I Checked all fluids (oil, coolant, etc.). Some needed topping off, others needed a full change.
  • I Inspected hoses and belts. Found a few that were cracked and needed replacing.

The Moment of Truth

After connecting the battery, I cautiously turned the key. There was a bit of sputtering, a cough, and then… nothing. So, I tried again. More sputtering. This went on for a while, and I started to get a little discouraged.

I check spark for the plugs.

Success! (Sort Of)

Finally, after a lot of fiddling and some choice words, the engine roared to life! It was rough, really rough, like a grumpy old man waking up from a long nap. But it was running! I let it idle for a bit, just listening to the sound and feeling pretty darn proud of myself.

Next Steps

It’s still a long way from being roadworthy. I’ve got a whole list of things to do, like checking the brakes, replacing some worn-out parts, and probably giving the interior a serious overhaul. But hey, it’s a start! And it’s been a blast getting this far.

I have got a long journey to make the car run perfectly.
